The validation of an individual’s core competency for working in explosive atmospheres is a serious line of work and requires the staff involved to be current CompEx Certificate holders and have an excellent command of the International Standard IEC 60079 Parts 14 & 17 to be considered as a CompEx Instructor or CompEx Assessor. A formal Certificate is required for the CompEx Instructor and Assessor and issued and certified via the CompEx Certification Body,  JT Limited.

C&P is proud to announce that two of its ATEX hazardous area project engineers, Dewi Evans and Steve Tossell have been assessed and verified to have an excellent command of the International IEC 60079 standard and possess the required level of competency and industrial knowledge to instruct individuals and assess their competency in relation to the CompEx modules: ExF. Ex01, Ex02, Ex03 & Ex04. Further courses modules will become available during 2018/2019. Read More>

Dewi Evans commented: “We are delighted to become fully fledged instructors and assessors and look forward to helping improve the knowledge and practical skill set of employees and provide a pathway for local and national companies that wish to demonstrate compliance with regards to IEC 60079, part 14 & 17 set of standards.”

Steve Tossell commented: “We are also looking forward to be able to assist companies that wish to ensure they have a sustainable, competent electrical workforce to maintain and install electrical equipment within potentially explosive atmospheres. Vocational training is also a key element for the electrical labour market to function correctly, to create employment and to promote workers competency and professionalism.”
