To mark this, during the presentation evening, Theo was presented a Golden Ball by ex-England manager Kevin Keegan. All of the kids were also presented with a trophy by Kevin Keegan. It was just another good weekend with the Port Tennant Colts football family.”

Port Tennant Colts club was founded by Mr. Bryn Bidder. It was originally called Crymlyn Burrows Club for all youngsters of the Eastside area of Swansea and when they moved from the Corinthian League to the Swansea League in 1960 they became Port Tennant Colts.

Bryn Bidder’s unwavering commitment and dedication has been recognised with the prestigious Torch Trophy for services to sport in the Eastside community which he received from Anne, Princess Royal. Bryn has also been nominated for an O.B.E and to highlight this the Bandfield and Ashlands playing fields from where the teams currently play has recently been renamed the Bryn Bidder playing fields in his honour.

Port Tennant Colts have teams from Under 10s to Under 15s in the Junior section and are looking to increase the number of players for the club. The Senior section has 3 teams that are performing very strong, with the first team being crowned champions of Division 2 and recently gaining promotion to Division 1. Port Tennant Colts Under 15s Junior side have just won their league cup, which was played at the Liberty Stadium, home of Swansea City F.C.

Over the past 58 years the club has also seen some very talented players who have either progressed through the Senior and Junior ranks or have been attracted to the club. A number of players have progressed to the Welsh League and also a number of ex professional players have come to play for the club, with local player Nigel Darling being the most famous, as he was the youngest player at the age of 15 to ever play in a professional league game for Swansea City F.C.

The aim of the club is to keep on producing youngsters in the local area and to nurture them into the Seniors first team. C&P Engineering Services look forward to supporting the club and watching the under 12s team grow and wish the players and coaches all the success for the future.
