CompEx Ex12 Design Engineer Course

The Ex12 Design Engineer Course delivers in-depth competence based training and assessment in the application, design and selection of electrical equipment with the requirements of IEC 60079-14. This will relate to the electrical installation, design, selection and erection in areas of explosive atmospheres. On completion of the assessments they are sent to the Awarding Body JTL for marking, and if successful the candidates shall be issued with a certificate of core competence by JTL and EEMUA.

CompEx is the national training and assessment scheme for electro technical crafts personnel who work in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as on-and off-shore Oil & Gas Pharmaceuticals, Energy, Chemical industries etc.

CompEx is a national joint training initiative developed and implemented by the Engineering Equipment and Material Users Association (EEMUA) and JTL and is supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

JTL who is the National training agent for the Electrical contracting industry has been appointed to develop, operate and manage the training provision across the UK and has licensed and accredited a number of centres to deliver the training and assessment.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Delegates for the course should be electrical or instrument engineers, including E&I Designers, Maintenance and Project Engineers etc.
Delegates are required to bring Photo Identification and suitable evidence that they are fully qualified in electrical or instrument fields, or both. This could be a letter from your employer or certification of your engineering qualifications.


COURSE LANGUAGE

The course is delivered in English, therefore candidates must have good standards of both written and verbal English.


WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Delegates will need to provide photographic identification as well as their National Insurance number on their first day of training. The following photographic identification is accepted: Passport, Driving Licence etc.


EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION

This course is JTL Approved and is conducted in accordance with their training standards. A JTL approved certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the examination.
