C&P is attending CNA 2022

CNA 2022: TOGETHER FOR NET ZERO

C&P Engineering Services is attending CNA 2022. The Annual Canadian Nuclear Association Conference & Trade Show. 12th to 14th April, Westin Hotel, Ottawa.

Canada’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050 can only be met with innovative advances in clean energy production. The nuclear industry is poised to play a leading role in transforming energy systems around the world, with small modular reactors (SMRs), advances in hydrogen and isotopes, and other innovations. This year’s annual Conference and Trade Show explores the leading-edge projects and technologies that promise to make Canada’s nuclear industry an indispensable part of our clean energy future.

CNA2022 will take place at the Westin Hotel, Ottawa and features a wide variety of leading speakers and panelists. Seminars with nuclear industry experts and champions will also be available to bring fresh thought and new insights to the table.

C&P Engineering Services is attending the conference and trade show through Business Wales Export with 8 other nuclear engineering companies who are members of Wales Nuclear Forum. The trade mission will include site visits prior to the Conference to various nuclear facilities. C&P’s focus is to showcase our Welsh company expertise in the nuclear sector, particularly with our hazardous area EC&I design & engineering services, to gain valuable contacts and build our exports in the nuclear sector.

Canada has pledged to phase out coal by 2030, reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40% to 45% below 2005 levels by 2030, create a net-zero electricity grid by 2035 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. This means that Canada will need to triple the amount of electricity it produces over the next thirty years. To address the climate emergency and meet growing energy demands, we need all available sources of clean energy – including nuclear energy. There is no realistic pathway to net-zero emissions by 2050 without nuclear. Net zero needs nuclear due to the scale of the challenge to decarbonize our economies. Nuclear can provide the clean electricity needed to decarbonize electricity grids and power the electrification of transportation and buildings. It also has the potential to decarbonize heat and power in Canada’s industrial sectors. CNA2022 will bring together industry experts to explore and advance nuclear’s role as an essential partner in achieving Canada’s climate targets and reaching Net Zero.
