C&P Engineering Services Ltd is delighted to announce our sponsorship of the Swansea Valley Sabres U12 and U14 girls’ rugby teams, the first Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) girls’ hub based out of Trebanos RFC.
This exciting development is part of the WRU Cluster Girls Programme, a national initiative aimed at increasing participation in rugby among young girls across Wales. The programme provides structured, inclusive and enjoyable opportunities for girls aged 6 to 18 to play rugby in a safe, supportive environment—whether they’re picking up a ball for the first time or already developing their skills on the pitch.
What Is the WRU Cluster Girls Programme?
Launched by the WRU to promote long-term, sustainable growth in the women’s and girls’ game, the Cluster Girls initiative addresses a key challenge in grassroots rugby: many traditional rugby clubs simply don’t have enough girls in a single age group to form viable teams. The WRU’s solution? Create regional “hubs” where girls from multiple clubs and schools can come together, train as one team, and build confidence both on and off the field.
There are now over 50 Cluster Hubs across Wales, with more than 5,000 females actively registered in the game—a testament to the growing momentum behind women’s rugby. The establishment of the Swansea Valley Sabres hub at Trebanos RFC is a major milestone for the region, marking the start of a new era for girls’ rugby in the Swansea Valley.
Backing Community and Inclusion Through Sport
As a proud Welsh company, C&P Engineering Services has deep roots in the local community. We are passionate about supporting initiatives that empower the next generation, especially in traditionally underrepresented areas like women’s sport.
Sponsoring the Swansea Valley Sabres aligns with our core values of teamwork, resilience, and inclusivity—values that echo throughout our engineering work as much as they do on the rugby field.
Our logo now proudly features on the front of the Sabres’ jerseys, symbolising our ongoing commitment to helping these young athletes thrive. We’re excited to follow their journey and to see the positive impact this hub will have on the lives of girls in our local area.
