C&P Engineering Services, part of C&P Group Holdings, are pleased to welcome Mathew Lewis as Project Manager, further strengthening the company’s project delivery capability across the water and wastewater, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and hazardous area sectors.
Mathew joins the business with a strong background in electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and project management. His qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, AM2, CompEx Responsible Person, IOSH, and a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, providing a solid technical foundation for the successful delivery of complex engineering projects. In his new role, Mathew will be responsible for estimating and managing projects, coordinating personnel, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of electrical and low voltage solutions for customers across a wide range of industries.
What attracted Mathew to C&P was the combination of technical expertise and project diversity.
“The mix of hazardous area expertise, technical depth and the variety of sectors we work across. It’s rare to find a company where you get that level of specialism alongside that much variety in the work.”
Throughout his career, Mathew has been involved in a range of challenging engineering projects. One of the most rewarding was a hydrogen tanker loading project in Germany, which involved managing the delivery of materials overseas, working to different engineering standards, and overcoming demanding winter conditions and tight project deadlines.
Reflecting on the experience, Mathew says the successful completion of the project remains one of the highlights of his career and reinforced the importance of effective planning, teamwork, and problem-solving. His passion for engineering stems from seeing ideas become reality.
“I’ve always been drawn to problems that have a tangible, physical answer at the end of them. Engineering gives you that. You can point at something and say, ‘I helped make that work.'”
As a Project Manager, Mathew particularly enjoys bringing together multidisciplinary teams and driving projects forward from concept through to completion.
“I enjoy pulling together teams across different disciplines – design, electrical, mechanical and controls, and getting everyone pointed at the same outcome. There’s real satisfaction in taking a project from a scope of work on paper through to something that’s actually installed, tested and working.”
Joining C&P Engineering Services at an exciting period of growth, Mathew is keen to play his part in supporting the company’s continued success.
“C&P feels like it’s on a real growth trajectory at the moment, and I want to grow with it, building on that momentum to help us take on bigger, more complex projects.”
Outside of work, Mathew enjoys playing padel, keeping active, and is a self-confessed coffee enthusiast.
We are delighted to welcome Mathew to the team and look forward to supporting his continued development as he helps deliver engineering projects for customers across the UK.
