C&P Group Holdings Joins The 5% Club

An apprentice at C&P Engineering

Supporting the next generation of engineers through apprenticeships and workplace learning

C&P Group Holdings is pleased to announce that it has become a member of The 5% Club, a nationwide movement of employers committed to creating meaningful “earn and learn” opportunities through apprenticeships, graduate programmes and workplace learning.

The 5% Club brings together more than 1,300 UK employers who share a commitment to developing future talent and creating opportunities for individuals to gain valuable skills, qualifications and practical experience while building rewarding careers. Member organisations aspire to have at least 5% of their workforce participating in structured learning and development programmes, helping to address skills shortages and strengthen the UK’s future workforce.
For C&P Group Holdings, membership of The 5% Club reflects a commitment that has long been embedded within the business. For more than 50 years, the Group has recognised that investing in people is essential to delivering high-quality services, supporting customers and ensuring sustainable long-term growth.

Today, the Group employs more than 180 people across its engineering, training and control panel divisions, with approximately 20 apprentices currently developing their careers throughout the organisation. Working alongside experienced engineers, trainers and technical specialists, apprentices gain practical, hands-on experience while studying towards recognised qualifications, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for successful careers within engineering and industry.

As industries across the UK continue to face well-publicised skills challenges, C&P Group Holdings recognises the important role employers must play in developing the next generation of engineers, technicians and industry professionals. Through apprenticeships, graduate development pathways and workplace learning, the Group is helping to create opportunities for people to enter the industry, develop valuable professional skills and build rewarding long-term careers.

Operations Director James Bunyan said, “Developing the next generation of engineers, technicians and industry professionals is something we’ve always taken seriously. Joining The 5% Club reinforces our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for people to learn, develop and build rewarding careers, while helping to strengthen the skills pipeline our industries depend on.”

Across the Group, apprentices and developing professionals contribute to a wide range of activities, including electrical, control and instrumentation engineering, hazardous area compliance, industrial training, design engineering and control panel manufacturing. Supported by experienced mentors and structured development programmes, they play an important role in the continued success and future growth of the business.

The Group’s commitment to workforce development extends beyond apprenticeships alone. Through C&P Training Services, the organisation actively supports professional development, technical competency and lifelong learning across a range of industrial sectors, helping both employees and customers maintain and enhance their skills.

Joining The 5% Club further demonstrates C&P Group Holdings’ commitment to investing in people, supporting local communities and helping to develop the future workforce required by industry. By creating opportunities for individuals to gain skills, experience and qualifications, the Group continues to strengthen both its own capabilities and the wider engineering sector.

As the business continues to grow across Wales, the UK and international markets, developing future talent will remain a key priority. Membership of The 5% Club provides another opportunity to demonstrate that commitment and to stand alongside like-minded organisations that recognise the value of investing in people.

C&P Group Holdings looks forward to working alongside fellow members of The 5% Club and continuing to provide opportunities that help individuals build rewarding careers while strengthening the future skills base of the engineering and industrial sectors.
