Hazardous Area Safety Forum
Edition 1 – Beyond Electrical: Mechanical Safety Matters Too

C&P Engineering Services is proud to announce the launch of its first Mechanical ATEX Forum, taking place on 11th February 2026 in Birmingham. This engineer-led forum will focus on practical mechanical and non-electrical safety challenges in hazardous areas, with a particular focus on the UK water utilities sector.

The forum will feature technical presentations from industry experts, including:

  • Joe Mercer (Wessex Water)
  • Sean Smith (Wessex Water)
  • Terry McDonald (THORNE & DERRICK, 2025 PENTA Distributor of the Year)
  • John Harris (CompEx)

An additional speaker is to be confirmed. The sessions will provide attendees with practical insights and guidance to help support compliance and best practice in hazardous area operations.

C&P Engineering Services continues to support UK water utilities through hazardous area inspections, remedial repairs, installations, maintenance, HAC reports, and DSEAR risk assessments, and has identified the need for a stronger focus on mechanical ATEX compliance.
