C&P Engineering Services Ltd Employee Conquers Gruelling 10YFan Challenge for Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust

Andrew Mountfield, a dedicated member of the C&P Engineering Services team, took on the formidable 10YFan Challenge to raise funds for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, completing an outstanding eight ascents of Pen Y Fan within 24 hours.

The 10YFan Challenge, held annually in the Brecon Beacons, tasks participants with climbing Pen Y Fan—the highest peak in South Wales—up to ten times within a 24-hour period. Each ascent and descent spans approximately four miles, and completing all ten climbs equates to a cumulative elevation gain comparable to summiting Mount Everest.

Andrew undertook this monumental challenge to support the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust, a charity close to his heart. The Trust provides vital support and equipment to individuals living with pulmonary fibrosis, aiming to improve their quality of life.

Reflecting on his achievement, Andrew said, “Completing the 10YFan was one of the toughest physical and mental challenges I’ve faced. Knowing that my efforts contribute to the invaluable work of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust made every step worthwhile.”

Despite managing eight climbs out of a possible ten, Andrew remained over the moon with his result, stating: “I am totally broken. My entire body hurts—legs in particular—but I’m so proud. The best part for me was walking with my wife and son in support.”

C&P Engineering Services is immensely proud of Andrew’s dedication and perseverance. His commitment exemplifies the company’s values of resilience and community support.
