We are looking for an E&I Project Site Supervisor to join our team.

E&I Project Site Supervisor: Electrical & Instrument Project Supervisor based in Barry, South Wales, salary negotiable, 33 days holiday (Inc. 8 days statutory).

The vast majority of our Electrical and Instrumentation Services are carried out on COMAH sites and typically hazardous areas workplaces/environments that may contain or have activities that produce, explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres.

The Role

The E&I Project Site Supervisor will supervise all elements of Electrical & Instrument Engineering Project work from planning through to installation, testing and commissioning.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:
• Supervision of Projects ensuring they meet their specifications, budgets and timescales whilst maintaining a high quality and safety performance.
• Liaising and Communication with clients & subcontractors
• Writing, review and communication of Risk Assessments, Method Statements & Safe Working Procedures
• Preparation of construction site prior to the commencement of construction work
• Allocation & supervision of labour & subcontractors
• Obtaining Authorisation / Permits to Work
• Working hands-on when required
• Overall supervision & technical backup of the Electrical & Instrumentation installation, testing and commissioning
• Completion of Safety Audits, Inspections and reports
• Assistance in the estimation of projects
• Punctuality & conscientiousness
• IT skills including MS Excel, Word & Outlook

This is a key role within the business and as such we need a strong communicator who is able to liaise with a variety of clients. Experience of working on a COMAH site is preferable along with knowledge of electrical testing and working in explosive atmospheres.

Typical work activities

• Liaise with client to carry out projects to their requirement
• Writing and reviewing workplace risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures.
• Supervision of Projects and Subcontractors (where necessary)
• Review & allocation of construction work packages
• Coordination, allocation and supervision of Labour
• Technical back up for E&I installation, testing and commissioning
• Attend meetings & write reports.
• Progress reporting to Client and employer
• Preparation, review & handover of test sheets and completion documentation
• Completion of Safety Audits, Inspections and reports
• Providing innovative and value engineering solutions
• Assistance Estimating projects, labour costs, and timescales
• Making sure employees comply with site procedures, Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental regulations, attaining ZERO accidents.
• Proactively driving continued improvements to enhance the sites Health and Safety culture.

Qualifications

• A recognised apprenticeship or training scheme
• City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 Electricians Certificate, AM2 (or equivalent) or ONC or NVQ3 with relevant experience.
• 18th Edition IEE Regulations Cert
• CCNSG Card

Desirable Qualifications

• Compex 01-04 gases and vapour qualification
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
• HNC or HND qualification
• C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection & Testing

Desired Skills & Experience

• Have proven experience in a variation of process engineering sectors, preferably COMAH sites within the chemical industry.
• A strong team leader with the initiative and drive to make a significant contribution to the organisation.
• The capacity to meet project deadlines
• The employee will need to be flexible as there may be overtime and other duties not mentioned in this job description.
• Must possess a strong commitment to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental and attend meetings when required.
• Hands on experience gained within a fast moving, established manufacturing plant, electrical and instrumentation control, including pneumatic controls.
• Presentation and communication skills.
