C&P Engineering Services Celebrates 27 Years of Service from our GM, Bev Davies

This week, at C&P Engineering Services were proud to celebrate 27 years of service from our General Manger Bev, whose journey through the business over the last 27 years, reflects both its growth and its values.

Bev joined C&P Engineering Services as an Accounts Assistant, where she built her career from the ground up, taking responsibility for all areas of the accounts function, including payroll, sales and purchase ledgers, job costing, and month-end reporting. As a lesson to many, this exposure to the operational and financial detail of the business provided Bev with a strong foundation for her progression into a senior leadership role.

Reflecting on her first day at C&P, Bev recalls the challenge of returning to the UK after 17 years living and working in South Africa. “It was daunting. I had to adapt back to UK accounting regulations, but everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I knew from the start I’d fit in.”

The evolution of C&P over the next three decades saw Bev contributing to some of the companies most significant milestones. Our diversification into the hazardous area services sector, and development of C&P Training Services, are of particular pride to Bev. Furthermore, Bev recognises the expansion into the water industry as being a pivotal and exciting period in the companies growth.

“The growth that’s been achieved through moving into hazardous areas, bringing in CompEx training and entering the water industry has been huge. It’s been a rewarding time, to be part of such a progressive business.”

As the business evolved, so did Bev’s progression, to General Manager. This move was shaped by trust, resilience and a strong people-first approach. She has played a key role in maintaining business stability during challenging periods, while helping to create a working environment where individuals feel supported and valued.

“The most important part of my role is making sure people are happy to come to work and that they know they can come to me if something’s bothering them. I’ve always believed in an open-door policy.”

When asked how her leadership style has been influenced, Bev cited both personal and professional role models. Bev credits her mother as a key influence, having demonstrated determination and progression despite limited opportunities, alongside several existing and former colleagues at C&P who helped shape her approach to leadership, customer relationships and business management. Bev believes the core company culture has remained consistent and allowed the business to experience continued growth. “It still feels like a family… just a bigger family now. A shared purpose and sense of team responsibility continues to be a defining characteristic of C&P, alongside an ongoing drive to explore new opportunities and sectors.”

Throughout her career, Bev has been part of many memorable company moments, with the company’s 50th anniversary celebration standing out as a reflection of both its history and its people. “Seeing everyone come together, past and present, really showed what the company is about.” Despite her 27 years with C&P, her commitment remains rooted in pride in the business and the people within it, as well as the collective achievements that continue to shape its future.

For those starting their careers, her advice is clear: “It’s hard work, but if you’re committed, it’s very rewarding.”

Describing her own journey in three words, Bev’s choices underline her career, and reflects the values that underpin C&P Engineering Services today: Committed, Trusted and Proud.

We’re incredibly grateful for her contribution and proud to have her as part of the team.
