30MW Short Term Operating Reserve – C&P Engineering Services are delighted to announce that is has been awarded the design and build contract by Enersyst Limited (part of the Walters Group of Companies) for a STOR (Short Term Operating Reserve) 30MW Gas Generation Facility, located off Smoke Lane in Avonmouth, Bristol.


New QHSE Manager Appointed

C&P Engineering Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Howell as QHSE Manager

With over 20 years’ experience working within the manufacturing sector, Mark has been successful in developing, implementing and contributing to Health and Safety and Quality strategies within diverse organisations to nurture positive perspectives on Health and Safety and Quality.

In addition to his experience, Mark holds qualifications from NEBOSH – Health & Safety in Construction – CDM 2007, NEBOSH – Health & Safety (National General Certificate (NGC), NVQ Level 5 in Health & Safety, Chartered Managers Institute, with a diploma in management and various other quality and health and safety qualifications.

On Mark’s appointment Paul Bunyan, C&P Engineering Services’ Managing Director commented: “I am delighted that Mark has joined the company as our new QHSE Manager. With his solid experience, qualifications and skills, I am sure he will bring a huge amount to this very important role within C&P.”

On his new position, Mark commented: “I am excited to have joined C&P Engineering Services and look forward to combining my practical approach to QHSE and broad experience to working with the C&P team in developing the future QHSE strategies.”

New appointment leads C&P Engineering Services into its next chapter

C&P Engineering Services has appointed Talfan Hopkins to the position of Principal EC&I Engineer and Technical Director

A Chartered Engineer, Talfan Hopkins brings his extensive EC&I design engineering knowledge and professional experience to underline C&P’s commitment to drive growth across all areas of the business and strengthen its position within the marketplace.

Talfan joins C&P’s senior management team having held leadership roles in Control & Instrumentation design, installation and maintenance in top-tier COMAH facilities in the chemical, oil and gas industries. Specialising in all aspects of Process Instrumentation as well as DCS and PLC Control systems, Talfan brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to the selection and specification of these devices, and complying with the DSEAR/ATEX regulations for their use in flammable/hazardous areas.

A TUV certified Functional Safety Engineer, his experience extends to all phases of the IEC61508/IEC61511 lifecycle with a true cradle-to-grave approach; providing SIS consultation service to deliver, lead and contribute to Process Hazard Reviews, LOPA Analysis, SIL calculations and Functional Safety Assessments.

Talfan’s expert knowledge in functional safety includes machinery safety, enabling him to carry out machinery risk assessments, gap analysis and design and implementation of safety improvements for both new and existing machines.

Commenting on the significance of such an appointment, Paul Bunyan, Managing Director said: “Tal represents a significant appointment and development in our ambitious plans for the years ahead. We continue to grow as a company so it is important that we put a strong executive team in place to ensure the development can be sustained. Tal is an outstanding candidate and we could not have appointed anyone more suitable for this role. The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) is one of the world’s most influential events for the oil and gas industry. With a focus on current trends and issues, the annual event promotes new technologies, innovation and services and provides an opportunity for companies to network.

Visitors to the C&P stand were given demonstrations of C&P’s integrated electrical services, which includes:

Paul Bunyan, CEO said: “We had a busy and interesting ADIPEC this year.  It was a great opportunity to meet new customers and catch up with existing contacts to discuss how C&P can help them meet their E&I project and maintenance requirements.”

Tristan Jones, Sales & Marketing Manager said: “We’ve had a very successful ADIPEC. Despite fluctuating oil prices, the mood in Abu Dhabi was upbeat with renewed confidence for recovery. Given the current market conditions, operators and contractors are looking for partners that can provide flexible and cost-effective services.

C&P Engineering Services recently exhibited at the Annual NDA Nuclear Decommissioning Supply Chain Event @ Event City, Manchester on the 2nd Nov 2017. The largest of its kind in Europe. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and associates for visiting our stand. The exhibition was a great success for C&P Engineering Services and gave us the opportunity to showcase our successful ATEX hazardous area inspection, consultancy and training services and High Voltage Design & Build and Operation and Maintenance Services which generated a great deal of interest.
